Safely Tucked in at Twin Falls, Idaho

Long day driving for Dave.  Left Canyon Pines RV Resort by 9:30 and started down Route 95 heading towards McCall.  Drove along the Little Salmon River for quite some time, in and out of the Payette National Forest.  Eventually went up in elevation to about 4800 feet when we got into McCall.  Pretty area.  Cutesy town.  And a huge lake for sports.  Had passed the Brundage Ski Resort area right before we got into McCall.
Just as we left Canyon Pines, will miss that place!

Very large lake in McCall

Picked up Idaho Route 55 and headed towards Boise.  Wow, pretty country.  Drove along Long Valley which is a high country alpine valley with lots of farms and ranches.  Mountains bordered the valley.  Knew they would get lots of snow because the snow markers were as high as the RV.
Long Valley

Passed Lake Cascade - another very large lake

Picked up the Payette Scenic River Byway and continued on south.  That river was quite foamy, and running wild.  And we wondered what the spring runoff would be like if the river was that wild now.

Followed the Payette River for quite awhile

Dropped down into Eagle and picked up Interstate 84 and headed east towards Boise.  Eagle is a suburb of Boise, lots and lots of people/cars/business/shops.  Not used to all the people and traffic. Was not until we were about 50 miles from Twin Falls did we pick up the Snake River again and followed it for some time.
Runway ramp for Boise airport right against I84
Somewhere in those mountains is Sun Valley
Dropped down into the Snake River valley
Glenn's Ferry on the Snake River (Oregon Trail Crossing)
Picked up the Oregon Trail (big stop for them in Twin Falls)
Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls
Headed south and east along I84 for about 135 miles heading for Twin Falls.  Dropped off I84 and headed south on Route 93, crossed over the Snake River and a very scenic bridge called Perrine which we will visit while here.  Got into the campground, Oregon Trails Campground, just south of the city and will be here for about 4 days doing some shopping and looking.  Watching the weather for the best drive as we plan on heading south into Nevada from here.
