Just as we left Canyon Pines, will miss that place! |
Very large lake in McCall |
Picked up Idaho Route 55 and headed towards Boise. Wow, pretty country. Drove along Long Valley which is a high country alpine valley with lots of farms and ranches. Mountains bordered the valley. Knew they would get lots of snow because the snow markers were as high as the RV.
Long Valley |
Passed Lake Cascade - another very large lake |
Picked up the Payette Scenic River Byway and continued on south. That river was quite foamy, and running wild. And we wondered what the spring runoff would be like if the river was that wild now.
Followed the Payette River for quite awhile |
Dropped down into Eagle and picked up Interstate 84 and headed east towards Boise. Eagle is a suburb of Boise, lots and lots of people/cars/business/shops. Not used to all the people and traffic. Was not until we were about 50 miles from Twin Falls did we pick up the Snake River again and followed it for some time.
Runway ramp for Boise airport right against I84 |
Somewhere in those mountains is Sun Valley |
Dropped down into the Snake River valley |
Glenn's Ferry on the Snake River (Oregon Trail Crossing) |
Picked up the Oregon Trail (big stop for them in Twin Falls) |
Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls |
