We spent 2 extra days here at Jellystone, we were supposed to leave yesterday (Wednesday) but we both felt a little under the weather and decided if we could just stay put a few days to get all-better, the safer. So, asked at the office and not a problem.
Monday and Tuesday were very quiet days. We did drive to Colorado Springs to Camping World to get a part for the RV, did a little shopping, then headed home. Wednesday (yesterday) was spent reading, computer stuff, just being quiet and hoping what ever was bugging us had flown away.
This campground we are in is something else. We are up on a hill, cannot see our neighbors (we don't have any anyhow!), and every now and then you hear a car or truck or RV moving along the roadway about 3 sights from us. We can't see them, there is so much shrubs and trees blocking between us and the next sight. Quiet, yes at night. But during the day we have the windows open and down below at street level is the railroad. Should say two railroad tracks, one rail line. The southbound trains move along right by the entrance to the campground, the northbound trains are on the other side of Interstate 25 (we can't see it but we know it's there). So, sometimes 2 trains are moving on the tracks and it is quite noisy. With being above it, the noise is muffled, and at night with the windows closed, is quiet, thank goodness. And dark! Very, very dark. We have not seen any bears but we know there are critters out there. We saw a big fox yesterday walking along the dirt road near our camp sight, and yesterday late afternoon we saw 6 mule deer just casually walking in front of the RV. But no bears.
Tomorrow lots of RVs are coming - every weekend until the end of October is the pumpkin patch which we experienced last Sunday with Cody and Imana. The staff said that it will be slammed here, glad we are taking off.
We will move to a small town called La Junta, Colorado, about 130 miles south and east of here. We saw a couple of museums we want to visit. Then move to Texas by middle of next week. Only commitment we have after getting to Texas is to be back in Picacho by November 11th. Heck, that's 6 weeks away! Time for lots more things to see and do!
