Settled in at Jellystone

Looking for Yogi Bear and BooBoo Bear.  They said there were 4 bears here in the park, 2 were Yogi Bear and BooBoo Bear, the other 2 were named - WILD.  We are not allowed to put out our garbage - the park will come get it in the morning.  Beware of the bears is what they told us.  How cool.  We are now south of Denver metropolitan area in a town called Larkspur, actually closer to Colorado Springs than Denver.  Our family is located in Centennial which is the southern most community in the suburban area of Denver, but we could not get into a campground near them, all booked up.
Bye, bye Terry Bison Ranch and Wyoming
People in Wyoming love these sculptures - they are everywhere!
We have seen these Jellystone parks around the country and have never stayed at one.  Very, very kid friendly.  This weekend starts their pumpkin patch activities.  We are not sure what our activities will be this weekend with the family, have only committed to attending Cody (he's our great-great-nephew and his soccer game.  From there - who knows.
Interesting - universal sign for police - but this is a cross-over on highway
We had rain, the Rocky Mountains had snow last night
We left Cheyenne this morning after a thunderry, rainy night.  Been quite a long time since we have had rain let along lightning and thunder.  Fun to hear it on the roof.  The wind picked up about 4am and we did not get much rest, we dragged our feet hoping that the wind would die before taking off but that did not happen.  The wind pushed us all the way down Interstate 25 through Denver and finally dropped just on the outskirts of downtown Denver.  Did I tell you Denver is big?  At one point we were in 6 lanes of traffic one way, with 2 auxiliary lanes not used and the same amount on the other side.  And busy.  We hit downtown about 11am and the traffic was awful.  Guess that's why we don't like big cities - too many people.
First sight of Denver
Mile High Stadium
Lane after lane of traffic
Got into the campground by 1pm, tucked in and safe, and I ran and did grocery shopping. At elevation of 6700 feet, 500 feet higher than we were in Cheyenne. We are kinda in a canyon - but up on the hillside.  Each site is tiered and very heavy vegetation, you can barely see your neighbor.  That's just fine with us.

Not sure how much posting I will do in the next couple of days - will be spending as much time with Caryn (niece) and her husband Scott, their daughter Emily and Emily's two children, Cody and Imana.  Looking forward to catching up with them!
