Many years ago while camping at Silver City, NM, we drove to the Hanging Catwalk northwest of Silver City. Was just as impressive this time as last. We almost did not get to the area - when we got into the little town of Glenwood and turned towards the canyon, we were stopped by construction crews - they were paving a new road into the visitor area. Said that the water was quite high, we may not be able to cross. Go check it and then proceed at your own risk.

Got to the first crossing - the man said, go slow, you'll make it. And we did. Goat did great. Got to the second crossing and a woman said - no way will you make it. You can turn around at the river crossing ahead. So we proceeded and at one point the first man - in a truck - pulled up along side and said - you'll make it. Don't pay attention to her. Just go slow - you'll be fine. Okayyyyyy..... I would have been so disappointed had we not been able to get there.

Made it to the parking area - phew! |

The roar of the water underneath - awesome |
Again, Goat did great. Got its belly washed and its tires, but did great. Phew. Lots of people there, some cars were built much lower to the ground - they made it. Huh. Walked along the catwalk, took lots of pics, then had a nice lunch by the flowing water.
