We visited City of Rocks State Park again, was there 6 years ago and it was only 3 miles from Faywood. The rocks are formed from a geological formation made up of large sculptured rock columns and pinnacles rising as high as 40 feet. These rocks were formed about 34.9 million years ago when a very large volcano erupted. Erosion over millions of years has slowly formed the formations you see today. Dave wanted to spend time taking photos using a new attachment and using the tripod. He had a lot of fun!
