The place we stayed at - Faywood Hot Springs - was a bit different. Never stayed anywhere that 'clothing was optional'. In certain areas. They have 5 hot springs, different temperatures, and people come from all over to bathe in them - I believe - for healing purposes. Over the years (current times) the park has run into some difficulty with bankruptcy, abandonment, owned by a big corporation for access for its employees, to just plain closed to the public because of liability. Current owners seem to make a go of it.

The current owners (since 2011) embarked on major upgrades and fix-its. Opened for camping and installing cabins for those who do not have an RV or tent. Rustic cabins, comfortable, but bare minimum. I had called ahead to see what their amenities were and was prepared with food we brought as well as could make while there. No stores unless you went to Deming or Silver City.
Above the hot springs are a stone circle, a star-gazing chair, and a stone labyrinth. The stone circle is a monument that describes the journey of the sun throughout the year, each site stone carefully placed. A survey was done in 2019 and the surveyor was astonished at how accurate the stones have been place - it shows the summer and winter solstice's. We understand that the ashes of the owner who dreamed up the stone circle as well as some other people are scattered in the circle. So obviously it is a sacred place.

Watched the sunset, climbed back down the hill, and ended our little visit with a lovely sunset.
