Move to Upper Peninsula of Michigan

Our time at Kabetogama came to and end and we were very sad to leave the resort.  We did get out on the kayaks a number of times, floating around, going here and there, keeping the resort within eye-ball distance since we were not in our own kayaks and were in sea-yaks were a tinge different meaning that we were more exposed to the water and got quite wet at times.  Regardless, we loved it and being back near the water.  As a side note - we managed to dodge 13 deer while we were in Kabetogama.  Could be same deer 3 different times in one day, but still - 13 near misses.  Little buggers.
Will miss hearing the loons cry.  Did hear wolves howling one night.
So serene, I could live on Lake Kabetogama
Oh my, how lovely
We have really thought about coming back here for summer to escape the heat, but not for a couple of summers.  Still want to do some other traveling.  The draw of the water is so strong, we did not realize how much we missed being on the water, or near it.  The first time in all our years of RVing did we not go many places, we found just being down near the water or on it was just so relaxing.
Lonely road coming down from Voyageurs

Dropping down into Duluth, need to cross that bridge, ugh
Hold your breath
Harbor was busy
We made it, now in Wisconsin heading east on Route 2
But, we had to get moving, so yesterday morning we trekked down from Voyagers National Park and went south towards Duluth where we knew we would have to cross over that lousy bridge and move eastward through Wisconsin.  This time we continued on Route 2 eastbound through Wisconsin and not stopped like before.  But, was an uneventful trip, thank goodness.
Lots of boats for sale, want to buy it?
Lake Superior Yacht Club
And on we moved through Wisconsins' North Woods, lonely road

And into Ashland and Lake Superior at it's edge
Through Bad River Indian Reservation (Ojibwe)
Yes, it does look bad
Lots of folks
Once we got into Ashland we felt we were in the home stretch of our journey.  Always nice to drive familiar roads which we did 2 years ago through this city.  We noticed how high Lake Superior was, the water was right up to the road.  2 years ago - water was quite low.
What the heck is on the road?  Definitely not paint
Road crew was tarring the cracks and then rolling toilet paper!!! on the tar. Huh.
Welcome to Meesh-i-gan
Passed through the Bad River Indian Reservation, lots of folks gambling at the casino, continued on till we passed the Michigan state border line.  Through the town of Ironwood and then to Bessemer where we will stay for the next week, looking around and getting acquainted with the "Yooper" again.  Lots of waterfalls and scenic areas to take in.
