We did not have a good time while in Pinetop-Lakeside, AZ. Lots of problems, illnesses and one injured cat. Started out by having water problems with the RV, called in a mobile tech guy who diagnosed the problem, fixed it, put in new access to plumbing, and then had to call him back out again due to leaking of the new access area. We then had to deal with us getting progressively ill - lots of reasons. First, I was run down from the week prior in Ohio getting the home cleaned out, carpeted, painted and emptying it to get it ready to go on the market. Slept hardly at all, ate little, was very exhausted, I got back on the 30th. Then went to urgent care this past Tuesday with a raging sinus infection. Dave spent that week running around getting the RV ready and doing Grandpa duty with the grandgirls in Chandler. He also got extremely exhausted.

Our spot while at Hon-Dah White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation |
We were glad to leave AZ - started out on the 2nd of May with 104 degrees, then had snow flurries early this past week - rain, sleet, snow, just miserable. Constant heaters going. 48 when we left.
Leaving the White Mountains - there is snow still there |
Getting ready for control burns - lots of underbrush heaped up |
We were at 9800 feet - this is still AZ! |
Snow patches still can be seen |
Beautiful country - still in AZ |
Last time we came thru - Lyman Lake was dry |
Road to nowhere |
As for cat - Pache was injured 2 days ago - he was doing the Pache thing and was out of control, fell hard on the floor, had him to the vet for observation - no broken bones, but he cannot walk on his right back leg. Vet gave him enough anti-inflammatory for 5 days - will take that long. This morning he seems to be a tidge better, Buddy doesn't understand Pache and just hisses at him. However, with the travel day yesterday from Pinetop-Lakeside to Dolores, CO they hugged each other in the back of the RV. Actually had their arms around each other staring at me with those big eyes.

The red rock of Gallup seen ahead, on I 40 eastbound |
Hello New Mexico |
Followed the rain storm - only got a little sprinkled on |
Started to see the rock formations |
This one is called Shiprock - town is nearby |
Left the White Mountain Apache Indian reservation yesterday morning by 8am, knew we had about 6 hours of travel ahead. The RV did very well. No issues. Traveled north and hooked up to Interstate 40 going eastbound until we got to Gallup, New Mexico where we headed north on Route 491. We were in the heart of the Navajo Indian Nation. About 30 miles of the route out of Gallup was construction - really slowed us down. Followed a rain storm along the mountains, only had sprinkles for about 1/2 hour.

Hello Colorado |
Appropriate name - Chimney Rock |
Coming into Cortez - snow on Rocky Mountains to the east |
Passed along rocks and formations - very unusual. Arrived in Shiprock where we turned more north and got into Colorado. Traveled through the Ute Mountain Indian Reservation, arrived in Cortez, Colorado. Tanked up the RV and continued heading more north, into the base of the Rocky Mountains which are snow covered. Arrived in Dolores RV Campground which is on the Dolores River by 3:30. We are in the southwestern corned of Colorado now.
We will stay here for some time, getting Pache healed, me finishing the medications, and just catching our breath and getting healthy. Only commitment we have is to be in Ohio by the end of July.
