First time since 2010 that we have been in snow for any period of time. In 2010 we were in Walnut Grove, Kentucky on our way down to Florida for the winter. Had snow and ice until we got to Meridian, Alabama - about 3 days of driving in very hazardous conditions. And we were in our 5th wheel then, pulling the RV with a big diesel truck.

From my window, about 6:30pm |

10 minutes later |
Snow flurries were predicted last night, no accumulation, but Mother Weather got her signals crossed. Light rain had fallen most of the day with the temps in the mid 40s. Prediction for the night was 32, no rain, we felt we could survive without disconnecting the water hose from the RV and we took a chance.

Around 7:30pm |
About 6:30pm the rain turned to snow, and it was almost like a heavy fog it was that hard. Just like a flick of a switch - bang, snow coming down pretty good clip. Very pretty and within 10 minutes the temperature dropped 10 degrees. Very light snow fell all night, no more accumulation than an inch of snow, and we had our heaters going without any problem. When we went to bed last night the temperature was 33.

Had to be careful - could slip really easily! |
During the night if one of us got up to go potty, we would run the water to make sure the water hose didn't freeze up and it didn't. We have enough on-board water that we could use if the outside water hose froze.

Yep, don't like this stuff |
When we woke this morning it was like a magical place outside. Snow clinging to everything including the RV. It's a first: first time the car has seen snow, first time the RV has been in snow, first time Pache and Buddy has seen snow. Buddy wants nothing to do with it, he's huddled on the bed inside a sleeping bag. Pache is on the dash of the RV, watching the snow fall and waiting for clumps of snow to cascade down the front window. He can't figure it out. Pache is doing better, he still limps - been 9 days now since he got hurt. But each day is he is stronger.
Glad we have no plans to do anything today. There is a harder freeze warning out for tonight, we will open the gray tank (dishwashing/shower/bathroom sink drain) and run a small trickle of water all night. Have done that before and it has worked fine. All of Colorado is experiencing snow as well as Wyoming, parts of Utah, Idaho, and Montana. Brrr. It's official - we are not hot anymore.
